Sweeney Julian will honor our country’s Wounded Warriors and Active Duty Military by hosting a tailgate as part of the GAMEDAY FOR HEROES organization on October 8, 2011. Gameday for Heroes is a not-for-profit organization that sends wounded and active duty military personnel to college sporting events, focusing mainly on football, basketball, and baseball.
Although the number of tickets is limited to the number of donations we receive, we expect Notre Dame and Air Force fans from across the country to attend our tailgate and the game.
But we still need donations of tickets! Gameday For Heroes accepts monetary donations, unused tickets from season ticket holders, donations from university or college athletic departments and ticket offices, and in-kind donations.
Gameday For Heroes is organized as a 501(c)3 Corporation and is eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions in accordance with IRS Code Section 170.
Efforts are coordinated with the official U.S. Army Wounded Warrior Program (AW2) and other military branches.
