Mark Sherer Biography

Mark ShererFrom the time that he was in 6th grade, Mark Sherer knew that he wanted to go to law school.  His interest began as a result of watching television shows and movies about lawyers.  However, in school, Mark developed a love for history and became interested in stories of influential lawyers in American history - figures such as Abraham Lincoln and Daniel Webster.  These were men, especially Lincoln, who not only helped individuals who needed assistance, but who also shaped the course of our country’s development.  What fascinated Mark the most though, was how historical figures such as Lincoln could inspire and persuade people with their words.

Mr. Sherer was born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana.  Graduating from Terre Haute South High School in 1988, he attended Hanover College in southern Indiana for his undergraduate education.  It was while at Hanover that he met his future wife.  They were married shortly after graduating college, and in August, 1992, he began his study of law at The Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis.

Mark Sherer

Mr. Sherer spent the summer between his second and third year of law school working as a law clerk in the Henry County, Indiana Circuit Court.  This experience of working with both a prominent trial judge as well as accomplished trial attorneys convinced Mark that he would like to spend his legal career as an advocate in the courtroom.  As he completed law school, it was with the goal of practicing in the courtroom.

Following graduation from law school in 1995, Mr. Sherer began working for a law firm in Indianapolis.  While with that firm, he immediately began to gain experience in the courtroom.  Mark soon took a position with a larger firm in Warsaw, Indiana where he could focus more and more of his practice on jury trials.  Although Mark has experience in criminal law, real estate, wills and trusts, and family law, he found that he enjoyed personal injury trials the best.

Since 1999, Mark has represented clients in numerous jury trials throughout northern Indiana.  Mark has significant jury trial experience representing insurance companies.  In fact, Mark has been up against the very best attorneys in northern Indiana, and won.

Having seen Mark at trial, he was our top “draft picks” when the firm moved to our new location.  He now exclusively represents people who have been injured by the negligence of others.
